Crushed

I was surfing the interwebs earlier and came across something that turned my stomach.  Apparently, there are people who get off on watching videos of women stomping to death small animals (like kittens, puppies, rabbits, etc.).  Called "crush" or "squish" videos, the market for this particular nauseating fetish is sizable enough that the ASPCA and 60 members of the U.S. House of Representatives are rallying to pass H.R. 5092, which would make it illegal to sell or offer to sell videos showing animals being crushed, drowned, impaled, or burned (where such actions are illegal, which I'm hoping is everywhere).

In 1999, the original "Crush Act" was passed banning the creation and sale of these videos, but it has since been ruled unconstitutional due to being overly broad.  So H.R. 5092 was drafted as an amendment to the first act, constraining the scope of the act and hopefully making the sale of these videos illegal again.

We're not exactly vegan here at the Lab, but we do agree that killing animals just for the heck of it (in a really gruesome and painful way, especially) is just plain wrong.  To show your support, or learn more about the proposed legislation, click over to the ASPCA and read all about it.
